Program Overview and Background

The National Association of Police Athletic/Activities League, Inc. exists to aid in the preventing of juvenile crime and violence by providing mentorship, civic/service, athletic, recreational, enrichment and educational opportunities and resources to PAL Membership Chapters. As a membership based organization, National PAL seeks to provide its Chapters with resources and opportunities to aid them within their organizational growth, as well as, to assist them within their pursuits of showcasing their unique programs and enhance the quality of individual youth engagement experiences.

Program Services

These resources may include funding opportunities through various grants, general liability protection options, programmatic opportunities through partner organizations, as well as, via goods and services provided by corporate partners and supportive likeminded In addition, there are occasions where National PAL provides Chapter members opportunities or access to engage their athletes/youth in select athletic tournaments, clinics or showcases via the construction of events aimed at providing competitive/championship outcomes, fundamental enhancement or relationship building opportunities between Kids, Cops and community.

Target Population

The NPAL Mentoring program will target hardtoreach youth who are at risk of delinquency, victimization and/or involvement in the juvenile justice system. Targeted communities will include: American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) youth; children of incarcerated parents; children of parents on active military duty; youth impacted by opioid abuse; youth impacted by bullying or cyberbullying; and youth in rural communities. PAL Chapters are situated in these communities across the country, and the NPAL Mentoring program is a natural expansion and continuation of the tailored services that are already offered to impacted youth.
