Youth Involvement
Starting in 2021, the NMRC is proud to partner with young people to create this hub for collaboration to center youth voices and the mentee experience. Through blogs, digital guides, interviews, and webinars created with the leadership and input of youth leaders, mentees, and peer mentors, this section of the NMRC will highlight mentoring resources for youth, as well as provide mentors and mentoring practitioners with information on practices and strategies to ensure that youth voice is represented in their programs and youth are equal partners in the mentoring relationship.
Young people can get involved with the NMRC by helping to contribute their voices and insights that will impact mentoring programs across the country and beyond. If you are a young person who identifies as a mentee or peer mentor, we want to hear from you! Interested in contributing to or getting involved with the NMRC? Please email us by clicking here.

Blogs The National Mentoring Resource Center (NMRC) offers a comprehensive online resource hub that features mentoring research reviews, mentoring program resources, and a blog series where mentoring practitioners can provide best practices and critical ideas to their colleagues in the mentoring field. In addition to the practitioner blogs, the NMRC team, alongside our NMRC Youth Advisory Council, has developed a youth-focused blog section, where youth mentoring stories, resources, and blogs will be shared with our national audience. All of the blogs in this newly developed section will be written by youth with the aim of fostering knowledge-building about best practices through a youth-lens for the mentoring field. This page features stories and writings from young people serving as mentors, advocates, and leaders in the field of mentoring.
Youth Insights Advice Column
The NMRC Youth Advisory Council developed the Youth Insights Advice Column to provide young people a platform to share their experiences and insights on mentoring. This advice column creates an opportunity for peer-to-peer knowledge-sharing and a space for offering recommendations for mentees, mentors, and practitioners from the youth. By leveraging the experiences and perspectives of young people, the NMRC Youth Advisory Council seeks to promote a culture of mentorship that is informed, inclusive, and responsive to the needs and aspirations of young people.
