Overview
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore (BBBSES) serves children of families facing adversity in the 9 counties of Maryland Eastern Shore. Our mission is to provide enrichment and to create and support one-to-one mentoring relaships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Mentoring is our primary goal, and we have been perfecting our service delivery method since 1919. BBBSES is nationally affiliated and adheres to the utmost standards for mentor matching, promoting successful, long lasting matches. Our program strengthens and supports the potential of youth served. Our organization locally has maintained consistent management and provided service and resources to children and families since 1980. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore (BBBSES)’s vision is that all youth achieve their full potential. BBBSES’s mission is to create and support mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. BBBSES offers a wide range of programs and activities to serve children and families. The BBBSES mentorship program connects mentors with children, providing either community, site and school based, or specialty program mentoring. These programs also include program screenings and case management to mentors, children, and families, providing safe and healthy relationship matches for both children and mentors. Additionally, BBBSES provide enrichment and resources through empowerment events, match activities, and special population group activities to serve more children from families facing adversity.
Target Population
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore (BBBSES) makes meaningful, professionally supported mentoring matches between adult volunteers (Bigs) and children (Littles) ages 6 through 18, in our community. BBBSES also provides enrichment activities and provides resources to families in the community.
