Program Overview and Background

YAP has over 20 years of experience providing academic support, mentoring, and youth development to opportunity youth in the Inland Empire. YAP’s vision is that all youth enrolled in YAP programs graduate from high school, transition to post–secondary education and enter meaningful and gainful employment or entrepreneurial ventures by age 25.

Program Services

YAP along with its subgrantees is part of the Inland Action Mentoring Collaborative. The IAMC provides mentoring services as a part of a prevention, treatment and supportive approach for youth impacted by opioids. All program services address risk factors that impact the lives of participants at the individual, family, peer, school, and community levels. Services include directed mentoring, academic support, career support, additional resources, positive youth development and relay a whole student approach.

Target Population

The Inland Action Mentoring Collaborative (IAMC) will implement a Collaborative Mentoring Program (Category 4) that targets youth between 14 to 17 years old in the Inland Empire, specifically San Bernardino (SB) and Riverside County school districts.
