Description of Resource:

This toolkit highlights evidence-based practices in mentoring specifically designed to support youth that have been impacted by parental incarceration. The three modules of the toolkit include: Pre-Match Mentor Training, Making the Match, and Enhanced Match Support. The mentoring practices outlined in the toolkit were informed by research and rooted in the Positive Youth Development framework with an intentional focus on strengths and assets.

Goals:

To provide mentoring programs with practical information and tips for mentors and staff to engage with youth, specifically youth who have been impacted by parental incarceration, that are strengths and assets based.
