Description of Resource: Building from a strengths-based approach program My Strengths Training for Life, this toolkit provides tools to help young people build their mental skills for life. Programs can use this toolkit to support mentors’ abilities to have conversations that guide youth towards their goals using positive and supportive approaches. It includes evidence-based recommendations on how to have emotionally safe conversations and create psychologically informed environments, with an emphasis on youth who have experienced trauma.

Note: While this resource focuses on building individual skills and resiliency, program staff should consider the structural and systemic drivers of youth homelessness when implementing these resources.
