View GuideDescription of Resource: The Youth-Led Advocacy Guide is a practical tool for both youth and youth-serving organizations to establish and expand youth-led advocacy initiatives. Created by youth advocates, committee members, and staff at MENTOR Affiliates (non-partisan, nonprofit organizations that galvanize local or statewide mentoring efforts) and MENTOR National, this guide includes: recommended practices, tools, and insights to support youth advocacy; tips to amplify the voices of youth activists and equip programs with skills to implement authentic youth-led organizing activities and; examples of local and national stories about youth advocacy in action. This resource will guide youth and adults through a variety of reflection exercises and provides recommendations for activities to do together.
Goals: To help youth-serving programs and young people understand and unpack the concept of “power” and support efforts to advance youth-led advocacy.
Target Population/Eligibility or Target Sites: Mentoring programs of all types.
