Celebrate National Mentoring Month
January is National Mentoring Month, an annual mentoring campaign nationwide dedicated to celebrating and elevating the mentoring movement. This month, here at MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, we are celebrating the power of relationships. This month, we reflect on the growth of the mentoring movement, recognize the need to continue to recruit new mentors, and offer opportunities to thank the mentors who have positively impacted our lives. Join us in celebrating mentoring and the positive effects it has on young people.
“Because You Mentored Me”
MENTOR kicked off National Mentoring Month with the video, “Because You Mentored Me,” showing what is possible when young people grow up with mentors, from the adult perspective. The video highlights how mentoring in real life can boost confidence, build bridges, and tap potential in young people – including the 9 million youth growing up without a mentor outside their family. National Mentoring Month Toolkit
This year, MENTOR released its 2019 National Mentoring Month campaign toolkit to provide guidance on the most impactful ways anyone can lend their voice to the mentoring movement. Mentoring programs can use this toolkit to help promote their programs and recruit mentors, while spreading awareness about the power of mentoring.
The toolkit includes custom graphics for social media, sample social media language, calendar of campaign activation days, templates of press materials and engagement guides, and more. Attend the National Mentoring Summit
National Mentoring Month culminates with the National Mentoring Summit, hosted by MENTOR from January 30 – February 1, 2019 in Washington, DC. The National Mentoring Summit brings together youth mentoring professionals, researchers, philanthropic investors and government and civic leaders from all across the country to learn, collaborate, and share best practices and skills within the mentoring field.
